Founder Gwathmey Siegel Architects
In 2009 Charles passed away due to cancer. In 2011 the firm was acquired by Gene Kaufman Architect and continues on as Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman Architects with Gene as Principal. Bob collaborated with Gene until 2013 after which he retired to focus on his interest in painting. Prior the studying Architecture Bob was a student at the Art Students League of New York. He returned to the League after retiring focusing on oil painting and subsequently attended the New York School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture for 3 years. He has continued to paint in his Studio, his artwork is shown in the website www.rhsiegelartwork.com. Bob retired his license in 2020 and is no longer available to practice Architecture.
The work of the Gwathmey Siegel Architects is documented in the three part series of Rizzoli published books titled Gwathmey Siegel Building's and Projects 1982-1992, 1992-2002, 2002-2012. A complete chronology of the work of the firm with each project represented by an iconic image, location and project team as well as 55 projects documented in multi page full color layouts is documented in the 2019 Rizzoli publication Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman 50+ Buildings and Projects.
